STRENGTHENING WORKS - MERSEY RIVER BRIDGE
The Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) have advised that strengthening works will commence after Easter on Victoria Bridge at Devonport on the east bound lanes. The works will make the bridge suitable for use by increased mass limit vehicles. Works are expected to be completed by the end of May 2012.
The speed limit will be reduced to 40km/h and traffic will be reduced to one lane during these periods. This will allow work to occur on the bridge deck.
Delays can be expected and motorists should allow extra time when travelling through this location.
Your safety is important so please drive with care and obey traffic signs and other directions given by on-site personnel. For further information about this project, please email
